At the corner of Greenwich and Rector Streets, three blocks south of the World Trade Center, the rebirth of George’s Restaurant is a sign of New York’s fighting spirit. Thanks to great food, the place’s personality and design, George’s Restaurant is considered a legend. Since opening its gates for the first time in 1950, it has been famous for its big portion plates and service with a smile. In a neighborhood known to be stressful and fast-paced, George’s provides an oasis for people to sit down, relax and enjoy their breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A year after the tragic events of 9/11, with structural damage caused by the terrorist attack, George’s Restaurant had to be demolished. The owners, George and his son Billy Koulmentas, stood in front of the rubble and decided that they had to rebuild. They owed it to the generations of people who considered this small restaurant a haven of rest and relaxation. The new George’s is now bigger and better than the old one, double the size and still a gem in this Lower Manhattan neighborhood.
George’s menu is characterized by its vast variety. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered and there is even brunch on the weekends. So whether you would like to eat your fresh eggs in the morning, grab a sandwich for lunch or have an elegant Chicken Florentine for dinner, George’s will make sure that you enjoy your meal and feel like you are at home. Order once from SeamlessWeb and you will have a new Downtown favorite!

I ordered bacon and egg on a roll toasted. To be fair, the sandwiches is fine but what i don't like about was I wrote the instruction "ketchup and black pepper on egg". When i opened, it has no ketchup no black pepper and not tasted the roll there. I am not sure if they are rushing to make the sandwiches or what. But i Definitely do not like the way they do business there.

I was severely disappointed in my order from George's. I ordered the Egg's Benedict w/Lox. Well, they sent me regular Egg's Bene...no lox. Plus, I asked them to substitute french fries for home fries. I guess if they can't be expected to read the item I ordered correctly, I shouldn't expect them to bother reading the notes either. The home fries remained uneaten since I didn't want them. Then to add insult to injury, they didn't bother to send a knife to cut the food, and even worse, they didn't send a straw with my milkshake. Thank god I didn't order the extra thick. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. They can't seem to get a simple order correct.

Good for a milkshake and chicken fingers on a lazy day.

I order here twice a week, the food is always fresh and hot when delivered. The Number 11 chicken is great as well as their cheeseburger. Never had a issue the food hits the mark.

Food was different in order then what was described in the menu. Missing bacon etc. When I called to complain, they were rude on the phone, kept passing me the phone on to another employee and in the end refunded me $1.00. Would not order from here again.

You can always count on George's. Food is good, order is always 100% correct, delivery is fast. The only thing is that it would be nice if they had daily specials.

When we order from George's we love it. The only catch is if they can get the order right as they tend to deliver the wrong meal about 40% of the time.

Not sure why George's only had 2 stars, so I wanted to add my review. This is the best diner delivery downtown by a huuuge margin. I like their omelets and the grilled chicken club. Strongly recommended, I order from here twice a week.

very average diner food. they changed the fried chicken batter recently which now makes it nearly inedible . the only reason why we ordered from this place. we will not order from here again.
